Bentley Play Park

Play park ribbon cutting

Bentley Play Park was officially open by Mr Alan Titchmarsh MBE, BL, HonFSE (Gardeners’ World; Ground Force; Love Your Garden) on 4th May 2018.

We have received a lot of goodwill from the community in our quest to deliver this project with donations, pledges and fundraising events taking place we have had lots of fun along the way, this has definitely been a spirited project.

Childrens holding a banner

Our wonderful Bentley children contributed by undertaking a sponsored Halloween walk around Mill Farm in Bentley raising £2177.55, including gift aid. A Promises Auction was also held on 14th October 2017 in the Star Inn which raised £4,270.00. Lots of local businesses kindly donated items and services, including: Finkley Down Farm, Forest Lodge, The Chocolate Frog, Blacknest Gold Club and JCB. These items were auctioned throughout the evening to raise the much-needed funds towards the play equipment. A huge thank you to Sally Dando who organised this event.

Castle Street Flowers also donated £300 from a wreath making workshop; Waitrose in Alton gave us £268.00 from their Community Project Appeal (green tokens) and some people gave up their Sunday morning to wash cars in Bentley at our car wash fundraiser which raised £416.25.
It is clear to see how important this play park is to not only the local children and adults but surrounding areas who have all got involved in some way.
